To provide a safe environment for girls and ensure their holistic development, a Women Development Cell (WDC) has been established in 2012 at KSV. Through this cell, guidance is provided to girls for their physical, mental, social, emotional, and educational development. It provides a platform for dialogue, discussion, and deliberation on women’s rights and gender-related issues through seminars, guest talks, and workshops. It also builds and strengthens partnerships with organizations promoting women’s interests and safety. The cell organizes awareness programs and camps to enhance the skills and capabilities of women for their personal and professional growth. WDC KSV is organizing different activities for 922 female faculties and 19,879 female students of both Gandhinagar and kadi campus.
Honourable president Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyalaya Shree Vallabh bhai M. Patel sir granted Rs.15,17,374 to conduct the activities of women development cell.
Women Development Cell presents the “Mahila Gaurav Award” which includes a cash prize of ₹25,000. This award is given to one female student of both Gandhinagar and kadi campus seperatly, who has shown outstanding performance in academics, co-curricular activities, extracurricular engagements, or has actively participated in various university-run cells. WDC KSV organizes one day picnic for staff .
1. Expert talk on Personality Development : On 20th July 2022,WDC KSV, organized an Expert Talk on Personality Development for female students of Standards 9 and 11. The session was conducted by Ms. Sudha Shah, a CELTA-certified English language and soft skill trainer, known for her engaging and impactful communication style. The event witnessed the participation of around 800 female students, who benefitted greatly from the expert guidance. Ms. Shah focused on various aspects of personality development such as confidence building, effective communication, self-awareness, and goal setting. She encouraged students to develop a positive attitude, improve their body language, and work consistently on personal growth. Her session was interactive and motivational, leaving a lasting impression on the young minds.
2. Seminar on “Healthy Diet” : In the month of September 2022, WDC-KSV organized an informative seminar on “Healthy Diet” for mothers of primary school children . The session witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 400 mothers. The resource person for the session was Dr. Dipen Patel, a renowned paediatrician from Kadi. He emphasized the importance of a balanced and nutritious diet in the overall growth and development of children. Dr. Patel highlighted how unhealthy eating habits can lead to long-term health issues and advised mothers to prepare healthy, home-cooked meals for their children. He specifically stressed the importance of nutritious tiffin and lunch boxes, recommending the inclusion of fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and adequate hydration. He also discouraged the frequent consumption of processed snacks and junk food. The session proved to be highly insightful and practical, encouraging mothers to take an active role in promoting their children’s health and well-being through daily dietary habits. The event was well-received and concluded with positive feedback from the participants.
3. Seminar on “Protection Against Child Abuse” : On 22nd September 2022, seminar on “Protection Against Child Abuse” was organized by WDC, KSV at the Indoor Auditorium, S.V. Campus, Kadi. The workshop, held from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, witnessed the participation of 574 girl students from standards 5 to 7 The session was conducted by Dr. Vishnu Bhai Prajapati, an Ayurvedacharya, trainer, motivational speaker, writer, and Ayurveda Insurance Medical Officer at ESIS, Kadi. Dr. Prajapati delivered the session in a unique and sensitive manner, making the complex and delicate topic easily understandable for young students. He used simple language and engaging activities to educate the students about the concepts of GOOD TOUCH and BAD TOUCH, and explained clearly what actions they should take if faced with such situations. His interactive approach ensured active student participation and deep understanding. The event was a remarkable success, thanks to the cooperation of peer institutions and the enthusiastic involvement of students.
4. Plan a Photo Or Video Project: A one-day workshop titled Plan a Photo or Video Project was organized by WDC, KSV on 7th October 2022 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Brahmani Krupa Hall (Pharmacy Hall), KSV Gandhinagar. The session was designed for first-year girl students, with around 450 participants in attendance. Mrs. Zeel Patel, the invited expert, guided students on the effective use of social media platforms such as Posts, Reels, Status, and Shares while also addressing their dark sides and safety measures. Participants also learned how to create and edit videos using the InShot mobile app by adding music, images, themes, and background visuals for impactful social media content.
5. Fine Arts Competition: In October 2022, WDC KSV, organized a vibrant Fine Arts and Cultural Competition for second-year female students. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 400 students, who showcased their creativity and talent in various categories such as Mehndi, Nail Art, Makeup, and Hairstyling. The competition was judged by Dr. Ratan Solanki, who served as the jury for the event. The competition provided a platform for students to express their artistic skills and cultural flair. Winners in each category were recognized and awarded prizes, which added to the excitement and motivation of the participants. The event was both engaging and encouraging, celebrating the creative potential of young women and promoting cultural appreciation through artistic expression. A two-day hands-on workshop titled Crafting with Quilling was organized on 5th and 6th January 2023 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Creative Zone Gandhinagar. The objective of the workshop was to teach participants the art of creating various types of cards and jewellery using quilling techniques. Miss Manali Dave, an expert in crafting, was invited to guide the session. The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 730 first-year girl students, who gained creative skills and hands-on experience in paper quilling.
6. Expert talk on “Women Safety Measures and Schemes for Protection of Females”: In November 2022, WDC KSV, organized an Expert Talk on “Women Safety Measures and Schemes for Protection of Females” for third-year female students. The session was attended by around 500 female students from final year of their UG or PG program. The resource expert for the talk was Dr. Ankit Rami, Principal of the Law College, Mehsana who delivered an insightful session on various laws related to women’s safety, including legal protections against domestic violence, harassment, and other gender-based crimes. He explained the legal rights available to women under the Indian Constitution and emphasized the importance of awareness among young women regarding these provisions. The session aimed to empower students with knowledge about existing government schemes and legal frameworks that ensure the safety and dignity of women.
7. Expert talk on “Learn to Avoid Exam Fear”: In December 2022, WDC KSV, organized an insightful seminar on “Learn to Avoid Exam Fear” for 600 students of Standard 10, including both male and female participants. The seminar took place at the Indoor Stadium and was coordinated by Ms. Manisha Chaudhary. The session was conducted by Dr. Vishnu Bhai Prajapati, an Ayurvedacharya, trainer, motivational speaker, and Ayurveda Insurance Medical Officer at ESIS, Kadi. Dr. Prajapati addressed the common psychological and emotional challenges students face during exams and provided practical strategies to manage stress and anxiety. Through relatable examples and simple techniques, he guided students on how to stay calm, focused, and confident during their preparation and examination period. The seminar was highly appreciated by students and teachers alike, as it helped create a positive mind set and boosted morale ahead of the academic assessments.
8. First Aid Workshop: In December 2022, WDC KSV, organized a seminar on First Aid for third-year female students, with the participation of around 200 students. Practical training was provided by the 108 GMR Emergency Service team, who demonstrated life-saving techniques such as CPR, wound care, and responses to common injuries and medical emergencies. The same training session was also extended to primary school teachers, ensuring that both students and educators were better prepared to handle emergency situations effectively. The seminar was informative and hands-on, fostering awareness and readiness among participants to act swiftly and responsibly during critical moments.
9.Life skill workshop: A three-day Life Skills Workshop titled Living Intelligently was organized by WDC-KSV from 8th to 10th December 2022 at Mechanical Hall, LDRP-ITR Campus, Gandhinagar. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ social, emotional, and professional skills. Around 200 KSV students benefited from insightful sessions focusing on optimism, self-confidence, critical thinking, and decision-making. Keynote speaker Swami Viditatmananda Saraswati, along with Swamini Suprabhananda Saraswati and Shri Haresh G. Pandya, guided students in personal and professional development. The workshop fostered holistic growth in IQ, EQ, SQ, and HQ. Participants actively engaged and demonstrated meaningful learning outcomes.
10. Seminar on “Cyber Crime: A Threat to Society”: A seminar titled “Cyber Crime: A Threat to Society” was organized by the Women Development Cell (WDC) on 28th January 2023. The seminar was attended by second-year female students from undergraduate and postgraduate courses, with a total participation of around 450 students. The session was conducted at the Indoor Sports Auditorium, Kadi, and the resource person for the seminar was Mr. Daxesh Joshi, a well-known advocate and counsellor. During the seminar, Mr. Joshi shed light on various types of cyber frauds and online threats, with a specific emphasis on how female students can protect themselves in the digital space. The session was highly informative and aimed at raising awareness and promoting digital safety among young women.
11.Workshop on Self Defence: From 30th January to 1st February 2023, WDC KSV, organized a comprehensive Self-Defence Workshop for female students of Standard 8. The workshop was in four batches, benefitting around 500 female students . The objective of the workshop was to empower young girls with practical self-defence skills and boost their confidence in handling adverse situations. The training was led by a team of experienced instructors including Ms. Shapriya Kilol, Ms. Hetal Thakkar, and Mr. Parth Shinde, a certified NIS coach. Through interactive sessions and hands-on demonstrations, the trainers taught students various self-defence techniques, including basic strikes, blocks, escapes, and situational awareness. The workshop received an overwhelming response from the students, who actively participated and appreciated the initiative aimed at their safety and empowerment.
12.Seminar on Professional Etiquettes and Grooming: The Women Development Cell of KSV organized a workshop on smart dressing sense on 17th feb2023. Total 80 students have attended the session . the workshop was organize at LDRP mechanical hall Gandhinagar , from 9am to 4pm .The Women Development Cell of KSV organized a motivational seminar on “Enhancement of Professionalism (Specification: Professional Etiquettes and Grooming)” on 8th October 2022 at the Indoor Sports Stadium. The seminar was specifically designed for first-year girl students of Kadi Campus, with a total of 526 beneficiaries. The session was led by Ms. Sudha Shah, a CELTA certified English language and soft skills trainer. During the seminar, Ms. Shah delivered an engaging and insightful presentation, offering valuable suggestions for developing professionalism among students. She emphasized the importance of recognizing personal weaknesses and actively working to overcome them. Key topics highlighted included maintaining a positive attitude, cleanliness, appropriate physical appearance, effective para-language, and the willingness to adapt to changing circumstances while finding satisfaction in the workplace. The session successfully motivated students to enhance their professional etiquettes and grooming standards
13. Celebration of International Women’s Day : The Women Development Cell organized a Cultural Celebration on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8th March 2023 at Nathiba Hall, Sector-23, from 12:00 to 4:00 pm. The event aimed to honor the strength, resilience, and achievements of women, with a special focus on female faculty members from various schools and colleges. The celebration featured vibrant cultural performances, motivational speeches, and interactive sessions, creating a joyful and empowering atmosphere. Around 300 to 350 female faculty members enthusiastically participated, making the event a grand success in spreading awareness and appreciation for women’s contributions to society and education.On March 9, 2023, Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyalaya (KSV) celebrated International Women’s Day at Kadi with a series of events aimed at honoring women’s achievements and promoting gender equality. Presence of Honorable Chairmen KSV Vallabhbhai M Patel sir, trustees from SVKM Kadi and female staff members of SVKM – Schools and colleges made this event valuable. The Chief Guest of function was Ms. Sudha Shah, a entrepreneur, and member of GCCI Women Wing.
The Women Development Cell (WDC) of Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyalaya successfully conducted a diverse array of activities during 2023–2024 from skill development workshops and social awareness seminars to literary events and celebratory functions, every initiative was aligned with the cell’s mission to empower, educate, and engage women in meaningful ways.
