કડી સર્વ વિશ્વવિદ્યાલયના વુમન ડેવલપમેન્ટ સેલ,ગાંધીનગર અને વુમન ડેવલપમેન્ટ ઇન્ટરનલ કમ્પલેઈન્ટ કમિટી ગુજરાત યુનિવર્સિટી, અમદાવાદ દ્વારા વિદ્યાર્થીઓમાં NRI Marriages વિશે જાગૃતિ લાવવા માટે બ્રહ્માણીકૃપા હોલ સેક્ટર-૨૩,ગાંધીનગર ખાતે કડી સર્વ વિશ્વ વિદ્યાલયના વુમન ડેવલોપમેન્ટ સેલના ચેરપર્સન પ્રો.ડૉ. વીણાબેન પટેલ,ગુજરાત યુનિવર્સિટીના ICC વિભાગના ચેરપર્સન જ્યોતિ પારિક,ગુજરાત યુનિવર્સિટીના WDC&ICCના મેમ્બર સેક્રેટરી ડૉ.પ્રાચી મોરિયાનીના માર્ગદર્શન હેઠળ NRI Marriages –Do’s and Don’ts : A Way Forward વિશે એક દિવસીય અવર્નેસ પોગ્રામ યોજવામાં આવ્યો હતો.આ કાર્યક્રમમાં મુખ્ય મહેમાન તરીકે ઉપસ્થિત રહેલા ગુજરાત હાઇકોર્ટના એડવોકેટ સિદ્ધાર્થ ખેસકાનીએ એન.આર.આઈ. મેરેજ કરતી વખતે ધ્યાનમાં રાખવાની બાબતો સાવચેતીઓ અને તેના કાયદાકીય નિયમો વિશે સમજ આપી હતી. પ્રો.ડૉ.કામયાનીએ એન.આર.આઈ. લગ્નના પડકારો અને તેની મનોવૈજ્ઞાનિક અસરો વિશે જાણકારી આપી હતી.શ્રી પ્રવિણ વાલેરા સાહેબે અને શ્રી સાગણા સાહેબે જરૂરિયાતના સમયે કઈ જગ્યાએ અને કેવી રીતે પોલીસનો સંપર્ક કરવો તેના વિશે વિગતવાર માહિતી આપી હતી.MHWC(KSV) ના ડાયરેક્ટર ડૉ.જીનલ જોશીના માર્ગદર્શન હેઠળ કુમારી માનુષી ઉપાધ્યાય અને શ્રુતિ તિવારીએ તણાવનો સામનો તેમજ માનસિક સ્વસ્થતા વિશે જાણકારી આપી હતી.આ કાર્યક્રમમાં કડી સર્વ વિશ્વવિદ્યાલયની વિવિધ કોલેજોમાંથી ૩૦૦ જેટલા વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ ભાગ લીધો હતો. આ ઉરાંત ગાંધીનગર મહિલા પોલીસના પી.આઈ. એસ.વી. સાંગડા તેમજ she team પણ હાજર રહી હતી.આમ આ કાર્યક્રમ યોગ્ય રીતે સંપન્ન થયો હતો.કાર્યક્રમના અંતે કડી સર્વ વિશ્વવિદ્યાલયના વુમન ડેવલપમેન્ટ સેલના ચીફ કો.ઓર્ડીનેટર ડૉ.સુનીતા લીલાણીએ ઉપસ્થિત સર્વેનો આભાર માન્યો હતો.
A one-day awareness program on the subject of NRI Marriages – Do’s and Don’ts was successfully organized on August 11, 2023, jointly by the Women’s Development Cell & Internal Complaints Committee of Gujarat University and the Women Development Cell of Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyala. This enlightening event received sponsorship from the National Commission for Women. The inauguration involved the ceremonial lighting of lamps by esteemed dignitaries in attendance.
Commencing the program, Prof. (Dr.) Jyoti Pareek, Chairperson of the Internal Complaints Committee at Gujarat University, extended a warm welcome to the attendees. This was followed by insights shared by Prof. (Dr.) Veena Patel, Chairperson of the Women Development Cell at Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyala, and Dr. Prachi Motiyani, Member Secretary of both the Women Development Cell and Internal Complaints Committee. They discussed their respective initiatives, highlighting their significance and operational aspects.
The event’s first session was led by Advocate Siddharth Kheskani (High Court of Gujarat), who delved into the legal complexities surrounding NRI Marriages. He elaborated on rights, jurisdictions, and available remedies pertaining to such marriages. The subsequent session, hosted by Prof. (Dr.) Kamayani Mathur, Director of the School of Psychology, Philosophy, and Education, focused on the psychological challenges and impacts associated with NRI Marriages. The final session, conducted by Dr. Divya Raviya, Deputy Superintendent of Police in the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Gujarat Police, addressed the role of law enforcement in mitigating potential issues within these marriages.
The experts engaged in lively discussions and patiently addressed queries from the audience.
Following these insightful sessions, Mr. Pravin Chandulal Valera shared his experiences leading an NGO that aids women dealing with psychological challenges in NRI marriages. He detailed the assistance provided by the NGO and how women could seek their support. Counselors Ms. Manushi Upadhayay and Ms. Shruti Tiwari emphasized the importance of mental well-being and offered coping strategies for stress in such circumstances. They generously shared their contact details, extending their assistance as needed. The guidance for this session was provided by Dr. Jinal Joshi, Director of the Department of International Relations at MHWC, KSV.
PSI S. B. Sangada, representing the Mahila Police Station in Sector 16, Gandhinagar, provided valuable insights into the roles and responsibilities of the mahila police station during the event. She shed light on the various ways in which the station is equipped to assist women. Additionally, she shared crucial emergency contact information that can be readily accessed for any form of assistance.
The entire event took place at the Brahmani Krupa Hall on KSV Campus and attracted over 300 students from various colleges within Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyala, the SHE team of the police, and WDC Coordinators from participating colleges.
